Ocean Maids has three distinct sections.  

1. Inner printed photo panel featuring a mermaid sitting in a tide pool, reading a book and drinking a cup of tea.  The large mermaid’s hair is sewn with gold and brown embroidery thread and glitter metallic threads, and her tail is covered with an opaque glitter netting or organza fabric.
2. Surrounding the inner panel is the “tide pool” a rich turquoise to purple color wide border covered with a milliner’s wide silver netting and decorated with buttons, beads and seashells.  The “dream net” is held down on either side by metallic silver ropes.  
3. Outer “deep ocean” panel which shows the colored silhouettes of mermaids playing, day dreaming, flower-gathering, and tea drinking.  Each mermaid’s tail is covered with a glitter netting, and most are decorated with hot fix crystals and/or glue-on bubble buttons.

Ocean Maidens is a Reasonably Gentle Care product.  It is not machine washable or tumble dry – but it can be washed in water or dry cleaned on a very cool, gentle setting.  The thin silver netting, and hot-fix crystals require a gentle hand.  Normal care with a lint brush – and you can steam iron this quilt, being careful of netting and bead detailing.
